We are delighted to announce the appointment of Yann Chareton as Partner. Yann will operate from our Milan office, further strengthening our presence in Italy.

Yann graduated from Sciences Po and ESSEC Business School in France. He began his professional career in acquisition finance at Crédit Agricole before joining Ardian (at that time AXA Private Equity), where he gained 20 years of experience becoming Senior Managing Director.

Yann has over 17 years of private equity investment experience in the Italian market, having established and developed Ardian’s Italian office. His extensive expertise in partnering and investing with Italian family-owned companies makes him a valuable addition to our team.

This collaboration underscores our commitment to the Italian market, highlighting its strategic importance alongside the UK and France. Yann’s leadership will be instrumental in driving growth and fostering strong partnerships within Italy’s attractive mid-market sector.

Andrew Wynn, Founder and Managing Partner of Perwyn, commented: “Our objective is to be one of Europe’s leading private equity investors, with a capital base from a small number of committed investors. To support this, we opened an office in Milan last year, and are delighted to have Yann joining to pioneer our efforts in this major financial centre.

“Our base in northern Italy – a highly industrialised region in Europe – has opened doors to vast potential.  Yann has an excellent knowledge of the Italian private equity landscape and the finance community in Milan, honed over decades of experience, and his appointment greatly amplifies our capabilities.

“Like us, Yann believes that the success of private equity is based on building strong partnerships between founders and entrepreneurs, and financial sponsors.  With its private and permanent capital base, Perwyn offers something unique to top Italian management teams.”

Yann Chareton added: “Northern Italy is renowned for its high number of high-calibre SMEs, often global leaders in their niche, poised for international expansion. Perwyn has already proven its success in helping its portfolio companies across Europe along similar journeys, and I am ready to assist Perwyn in replicating those skills in the Italian market.

“What Andrew and the Perwyn team have accomplished is truly impressive, and I am excited to join such a remarkable private equity investor. I look forward to contributing to Perwyn’s growth journey by offering something distinctive to the best Italian entrepreneurs.

“With Perwyn’s backing by families, its culture and approach to business can add significant value to the ecosystem of Italian family-owned companies. Perwyn’s flexibility in timing allows it to support companies in making the right decisions for their business, whenever and wherever this might occur during its investment. I believe this approach resonates very well in Italy.”
